Persepolis, Iran, Art Print
Persepolis was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire, founded by Darius the Great around 518 BCE and expanded by Xerxes and Artaxerxes over the following century. A UNESCO World Heritage Site in Fars Province, it was one of the greatest cities of the ancient world, a complex of palaces, audience halls, and monumental gateways built to receive delegations from across the empire. This print captures the heart of that grandeur: the Apadana staircase with its famous bas-relief processions of tribute-bearers, soldiers, and dignitaries carved in precise detail, rising toward the columned gateway above, all rendered in warm golden limestone under a soft blue sky.
This is not a traditional watercolor painting; it is a premium art print with a watercolor-inspired aesthetic.
